Hey I’m Stacie Moss, a driven, detail-oriented and efficient Senior Designer with 8+ years of experience well versed in many categories including Design and Technical Design for Women’s RTW, Bridal, Styling and Graphic Design. I’m an independent self-starter passionate about sustainability with a love for garment construction, trend forecasting, and styling.
As a student I studied Fashion Design abroad in Firenze, Italy which is where I met my husband and also discovered my love of Haute Couture. I learned construction details from some of the best instructors in Milano and Firenze. Fine craftsmanship and tailoring exquisite fit is something that I strive for every time I make a garment. I took classes from Prudence Millinery at Central Saint Martins and I also spent a year in Amsterdam working at an organic textile mill. My love for travel runs deep as does my conscience effort to be aware of sustainable fashion and the carbon footprint we leave behind. Fine quality, classic shapes with new innovative twists are what truly inspire me. Longevity in a garment that is built to last and will be relevant for years to come is always be a key role when I design a collection.
Sourcing abroad in India and China is another deep passion of mine. I find sourcing to be like treasure hunting. I absolutely love the hunt. I narrow my search and get inside the brain of whomever I am making Private Label for or for the line I work with on a regular basis. Being able to adapt and understand a brands vision and ideal customer allows me to be so successful in finding things that have a high sell through rate for Majors like Anthropologie, Nordstrom, Everything but Water to name a few. Rummaging through many options on my quest to find the perfect item(s) like prints, a new yarn for sweaters, trims and other findings or simply looking at the market to see what new trends and colors are coming available for the upcoming seasons. I am very familiar with all the big trade shows and markets for sourcing abroad like the Canton Fair, Guangzhou Fabric Market, Yiwu Market, Shanghai Yarn Show and many more. Living in Downtown LA has also allowed me to get down and dirty with the domestic sourcing and knowledge of local factories.
A little more about myself, currently some hobbies I am studying are Herbalism and Alchemy. Alchemy is a fine line between science and magic, sometimes I think it’s just one in the same which has always drawn me since I was a kid. Being out in nature and getting my hands in the soil, tending to plants and watching them grow is a huge passion of mine. Making tinctures, salves and balms to heal, prevent and embody good health is dear to my heart. Alongside my herbalist quest, I greatly enjoy healthy cooking. I am hoping to sell my sauces, pickles and other raw cultured veggies and at the farmers markets in the near future.
